A vintage car with a fascinating history is now up for sale, commanding an asking price 23 times higher than its sale price just three months ago. The 1950 Delahaye 180 Cabriolet Limousine Convertible from France increased in value after new documents were discovered confirming its important past. The car was sold in August by RM Sotheby’s for around $318,500 but Hemmings is now offering it for sale for $7.5 million. The vehicle’s previous owner claims that the new documents establish that it was commissioned by the then Sultan of Morocco, Mohammed V, who specially chose its black paint and red interior. French company Delahaye made the car’s chassis, while the body was made by another French firm called Franay. The car has had a complete restoration and is located in Florida, where it is hoping to attract buyers. It has already reached an offer of $4.75 million and has garnered the attention of over 100 people.
