Ex-Marshall Ford regional manager Jim Higgins has joined dealer buying group the Retail Automotive Alliance (RAA) as its operations director.
Higgins brings over 30 years automotive retail experience to the RAA and has held senior leadership roles at UK dealer groups, including TrustFord and Bristol Street Motors. Most recently he headed up the Ford division at Marshall Motor Group.
RAA chairman Peter Fleet said: “The independent privately-owned businesses who have successfully come together over the last eighteen years to form the Retail Automotive Alliance now have a combined turnover of more than £3.5bn
“We are excited to welcome Jim Higgins to lead the RAA through our next phase of growth and development with our loyal partners. Jim’s experience, influence and relationships will be invaluable to us.”
Higgins said: “I am absolutely delighted to move into my new role working with many of the UK’s leading independent retailers. The RAA is a unique union of nearly 30 automotive businesses. I am very much looking forward to meeting with our members and partners over the coming months and am determined to find new ways to deliver added value for all stakeholders.”
The RAA was founded in 2005 and now has 27 dealer group members who had equal stakes in the business.
