Rolls-Royce Motor Cars commemorates the life of Sir Henry Royce, who spent his final 16 years at Elmstead in the village of West Wittering, West Sussex. The nearby Memorial Hall, which celebrates its centennial in 2022, marks the anniversary of Royce’s death on April 22 each year with a special ceremony. Rolls-Royce Enthusiast’ Club members walk from the Memorial Hall, retracing Royce’s steps to Elmstead. Elmstead, which is just eight miles from the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, provides fascinating insights into the mind and character of the marque’s founding genius. Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, shares, “That emotional connection with our founder, who spent his happiest and most productive years there, is something we all feel very deeply. We’re proud of our long connection to this beautiful part of West Sussex that he loved so much and delighted to celebrate its central place in our company’s heritage once again.”
