An exceedingly rare 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, one of just 500 ever built, is set to go up for auction with an estimated price range of £100,000 to £120,000 (not including VAT). The turbocharged vehicle, boasting an impressive 224bhp and upgraded brakes along with modified bodywork and spoilers, was initially designed as a Group A Touring Car race contender to comply with competition regulations requiring 5,000 units to be manufactured and sold. The particular model, E321 EPD, has been kept in good condition and appears to maintain its original interior and Ford stereo unit. Furthermore, the car comes with a comprehensive history and has just over 23,000 miles on the odometer. Number 215 out of 500, the RS500 will be auctioned off on May 20th, and is expected to fetch a considerable sum that could range from the lower end of its guide price to well beyond it. A similar model was recently sold for £135,700 in 2022, further adding to the already high demand and escalating prices of the iconic blue-collar sportscar.

I remember when the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 first came out. I was in high school at the time and all my friends were talking about how cool it was. I didn’t really know much about cars, but I knew that the RS500 was something special. I even remember seeing one in person and thinking it was the coolest car I had ever seen. Fast forward to today and I see that one is up for auction with an estimated price range of £100,000 to £120,000. That is a lot of money, but I can see why it is so expensive. The RS500 is a classic car and there are only 500 of them in the world. I think it is amazing that one is up for auction and I hope it fetches a high price.

I remember when the Cosworth was first released, it was a big deal. My uncle had one and I was always so jealous. I remember it being a really fast car and my uncle always talking about how much he loved it. I’m not surprised that they are worth so much now. It’s a really cool car.
I remember seeing the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 back when it first came out and thinking it was the coolest car ever. I would have loved to have owned one, but at the time they were way out of my price range. I’m glad to see that they are still around and that people are still appreciating them. It’s great to see that one is going up for auction with an estimated price range of £100,000 to £120,000. I’m sure it will fetch a high price, but it will be worth it to the lucky buyer.
