An astonishing result was achieved at an auction when a classic Mini that had been tucked away in a dusty garage for 33 years was sold for an eye-watering amount of £39,100, surpassing its expected sale price of £10,000. The 1275 GT model, in bronze yellow over black vinyl, was in remarkable condition, with only 11,836 miles on the clock. The vehicle, owned by one person from new, was discovered in a locked garage in Buckinghamshire where it had been gathering dust since 1990. Its discovery delighted Mini enthusiasts who attended the sale, which took place at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at the NEC, Birmingham. Musician Chris Rea’s 1950 Series I model Land Rover was also among the auctioned vehicles and achieved £17,250, surpassing its guide price of £10,000 to £12,000.
