SIR ELTON John’s old Bentley Continental is currently up for sale at auction. The luxury motor was initially purchased by the music legend himself in 2004, making him its first owner. Despite almost two decades having passed since then, the W12 GT, which is equipped with a 6.0-litre, twin-turbo 522bhp engine, remains in nearly pristine condition. Interestingly, it has been suggested that the 75-year-old star chose the car’s red color to match his red Bentley Continental convertible that was featured in his hit music video for Nikita. Bidding began at £23,000 and has so far garnered 12 bids, with the current price at £28,500. The iconic singer sold the car in 2007, and it has only accrued 9,499 miles on its odometer. The Conti is coated in exquisite Umbrian Red paintwork and has a comprehensive service history from Bentley specialists, with 11 stamps. The car’s creme leather interior and walnut veneers amplify its elegant and classic Bentley style. Furthermore, its standard cruise control, sat-nav, and heated and electric memory seats are convenient features. With a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 216mph, the lucky new owner will certainly experience a thrilling ride. Those who are interested in owning Rocket Man’s former wheels should check out auctioneers Car and Classic. However, they must act quickly because the online auction will end on March 16th. Earlier this year, Bentley announced that production of this flagship engine would be halted in early 2024.
