An auction is set to take place for a unique British road-legal racing car that is expected to sell for over £300,000. The TVR Cerbera Speed 12 was never produced commercially, making it an exclusive model for the new owner. The car gained international attention after being featured in the Gran Turismo computer game series. Despite being designed to compete with the McLaren F1, the car’s 7.7-litre V12 engine, which produced about 850bhp, made it difficult to drive, leading to the decision not to manufacture it. TVR built only one Speed 12 road car using parts from different sources, which was personally vetted by then CEO, Peter Wheeler, before being sold. The vehicle is set to be auctioned at Supercar Fest in Northamptonshire on May 20th.
