A luxurious 1923 Bentley 3-Litre, previously owned by the famous Fiennes family, is set to be auctioned by H&H on March 15 at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Named Wilfred, the vehicle was once a Brooklands racer, achieving a third-place victory under the guidance of Captain Cecil Wingfield Twisleton-Wykeham Fiennes. A relative of explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and actor Ralph Fiennes, the captain’s Bentley is expected to fetch up to £180,000. Despite sustaining damage in an accident in 1947, Wilfred has undergone repairs and maintenance over the years, with its engine and petrol tank still intact. The car will be accompanied by original service records, a log-book of repairs, manuals and photos. The Bentley is one of only 1,621 models built between 1921 and 1929.
