Mr. Bean’s uncommon vintage car heads to auction and is anticipated to fetch a great sum – but surprisingly, it’s not a Mini.

Next month, the rare classic car owned by Rowan Atkinson, famous for his role in Mr. Bean, will be up for auction. The 1993 Lancia HF Integrale Evo II, designed for rally driving, is expected to sell for a hefty sum of money. Silverstone Auctions will be facilitating the sale on February 25th, with bidding potentially reaching £75,000. Atkinson is known for his impressive collection of both vintage and modern vehicles, proving himself to be a true petrolhead. In May 2021, he acquired the Lancia, which has only been driven around 2,000 miles while sporting a like-new condition and a mileage of roughly 55,000 miles from previous owners in Japan. These Delta road cars were produced as homologation models to accompany Lancia’s successful rally cars, with only 4,000 of them ever made. As a result, collectors are always on the hunt for well-maintained examples. The Lancia Delta, with its rare Lord Blue color and beautiful tan seats, should be enjoyed as a true rally car for the road, rather than hidden away somewhere.
