Next 5 years to see JLR investing £15bn, announces the company

JLR plans to invest £15bn in manufacturing plants, vehicle assembly, digital and AI over the next five years. The company will transform its Halewood plant in the UK into an all-electric production facility, as part of its Reimagine strategy to become an electric-first modern luxury carmaker by 2030. The first medium-size modern luxury SUV in its next generation will be an all-electric Range Rover, set to launch in 2025 and built at Halewood in Merseyside. JLR will follow a House of Brands approach for Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar.

JLR will launch three all-electric Jaguar models, with the first being a 4-door GT that will go on sale in 2024 in selected markets. The vehicle will be priced at £100,000 and built in Solihull in the West Midlands. JLR also plans to rename its Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton to Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre. The investment in electrification will enable JLR to develop new skills and become a net-zero-carbon company by 2039.
