Revised Look for 2024 Hyundai Elantra N Unveiled

The Hyundai Elantra N is receiving a facelift that is likely to be carried over to the base Elantra.

An Instagram post and a YouTube video published on Tuesday showcase updated styling for Hyundai’s compact sport sedan. The most noticeable changes are seen in the newly designed front fascia that reflects the futuristic look of the mid-size 2024 Sonata. The grille has been reduced in size while the lower air intake has been made larger. The headlight shape has been altered and the lights have been combined with a trim piece to give the front an unbroken horizontal line. The outboard air intakes have been visually separated from the grille as it is no longer all black. The rear hasn’t been changed much.

While Hyundai has yet to reveal this new styling update for the base Elantra, a camouflaged prototype was spotted earlier this year that exhibited apparent front fascia changes beneath its camouflage. Some interior modifications may also be included in the update.

The current Elantra, belonging to the nameplate’s seventh generation, was introduced for the 2021 model year, with the Elantra N following in 2022. This means that a mid-cycle update is due soon, and with the refreshed Elantra N already unveiled, it is expected to be released as a 2024 model.

It is unclear as of now whether any mechanical upgrades are in the plan. The Elantra N is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine that generates 276 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque, driving the front wheels. Both a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission have been retained for the 2023 model year. During its debut model year, we discovered that the compact sedan excels both on and off the track.

The Elantra N is marketed alongside the Kona N crossover, which will also undergo a redesign for the 2024 model year. Soon, an Ioniq 5 N will join the roster. Scheduled to launch in July, it will represent the first electric model for the N performance sub-brand.
