The Spectacular Return of the Family-friendly Generations Rally

Rally the Globe’s second Generations Rally was a great success, building on the achievement of the first rally which received the Best Competitive Event prize at the 2022 Royal Automobile Club Historic Awards. The rally was initially created to ignite enthusiasm among young people for historic motorsport. Participants were driver/navigator pairs from different generations, and the event included three days of Speed Tests and Regularity Sections which gradually increased in difficulty. The event was very well-received, and all 75 competing teams enjoyed the magnificent landscapes of Northumberland, Cumbria, and County Durham. The event was based at the luxurious Slaley Hall Hotel, which offered majestic views of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The winners were Paul Taylor and Sophie Haslam in their 1974 Ford Escort, and Michael Birch and Emily Anderson in their vintage green 1934 Talbot AV105. Rally the Globe has announced that it will host the third Generations Rally in Cheshire from 22-24 March next year.
