China remains the primary market for Aston Martin’s A8 mid-life update. The DBX Mild Hybrid, a world premiere at Auto Guangzhou, was developed specifically for China and boasts the same M 256 powertrain as the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+. The Volkswagen Group’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 with 48-volt electrics powers the A8 L Horch, Audi’s extra-long variant intended to rival the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The Q5 e-tron, a special model for China manufactured by SAIC Volkswagen, also premiered at Auto Guangzhou. BYD’s upcoming Destroyer 05 plug-in hybrid sedan will be the first in its Warship series. Other notable releases include Lincoln’s Zephyr and Mondeo sedans, Hozon Auto’s Neta S electric sedan, and Maxus’ MIFA 9 electric MPV and Bull Demon King pickup truck.
